Is blogging going to be obsolete?

If someone asks me, "Is blogging going to be obsolete?" after seeing the growth of micro blogging platforms, I would not ridicule the person who asked but I would seriously think laterally.

Sure, there are a few micro blogging sites like Tumblr that is not heard loud and clear these days because Twitter has swallowed every other micro blogging platforms.

But what about this one- Sprouter is a new entrant in micro blogging industry. It asks you to say "what are you working on" and I believe Sprouter.com is seriously for businessmen. I noticed so many CEO's as fellow Sprouters.

Yes, like Twitter, you can opt to follow others and in fact follow the Sprouter itself in Twitter.

No, blogging will not be wiped away but peer to peer connectivity is made much easier through micro blogging networks and I foresee Sprouter is going to be a pioneer.

How can you earn using Twitter?

Do you know that the Alexa rank of Twitter is 308?
Do you know that Twitter has about 80 million plus backlinks?
Do you know that Twitter's Google PR is 8?

Wonder what I am driving at?

If these statistics of a microblogging platform is any indication to what is coming in the near future, you better learn Twitter fully.

Microblogging as a blog promotion avenue.

Literally I stumbled on to the word micro-blogging yesterday. What a concept! I liked it immediately and without a second thought, I signed up myself with Tumblr, the earliest microblog on the blogosphere and also the most popular one.

What is the benefit for bloggers?
I view it as an excellent avenue to promote myself as a blogger and a freelancer. In the words of Tumblr, "Tumblr makes it effortless to share text, photos, quotes, links, music, and videos, from your browser, phone, desktop, email, or wherever you happen to be. Also, you can change the appearance of your Tumblog, tweak everything from colors to your theme's HTML markup. Even use your own domain name. If blogs are journals, tumblelogs are scrapbooks. You can also look at tumblelogs as slightly more structured blogs that make it easier, faster, and more fun to post and share stuff you find or create"-Very good description-won't you agree?

Here is my Tumblr. I made a few posts, shared an audio and an image. If you browse through other tumblrs, you will realize its potentially to promote your blogs, business and increase your online contacts.
