It is a common belief that a blog's worth is calculated based only on the number of backlinks it got. But in my experience as a problogger, there are other parameters that are taken into account. But this is done so only by top internet marketing companies that hire bloggers to post sponsored post or place their text and banner ads.
Some of the parameters:
Backlinks
RSS feed subscriber count
Alexa page rank
Google page rank
Google search engine result rank
So, bloggers need to concentrate on building their blog's worth considering all the parameters.
