How to create a mashable sharing widget.

Had you been an avid blogger, you would have seen a social sharing widget that is mashed to accommodate several sharing ways. It is called "Mashable Sharing Widget".

Here is an example:

As you can see, it is attractive and contains links to Google +. Twitter, Facebook and so on.

Due to its box shape, it would attract attention quickly.

If you want to create one such widget to be placed in your blog, I would direct you to an excellent free tutorial published by Hassam Ahmad Awan in Bloggingehow.com

Without any javascript knowledge, you can create a similar widget in less than a minute.

Don't forget to visit the source
and leave your 'thanks'.

How to imprison your blog visitors in your blog?

From my experience I realize that I am retained in a blog that I visit when I see more such posts clearly by the side or at the end of the blog post I am reading.

Displaying the related posts is a definite way to retain your blog visitor in your blog for a long time.
As the visitor clicks on every related post, he will be shown more to visit. This had happened to me in Etienneteo blog and in John Chow blog.

Unfortunately, there is no widget in blogger that shows related posts but if you operate a WP plug, there is a plugin to display related posts.

In my Income Opportunities blog, I have a displayed a widget that shows all of my blog posts in that blog. This widget is developed by Vin of Blog Doctor. I find it very useful to retain the blog visitor.

You can visit my Income Opportunities blog and view the widget in the right sidebar under the name, "Money Makers". It is actually an archive of all of my blog posts.

Earn more money with your blog.

I got paid by Widget Bucks.

Widget (video game)Image via WikipediaI was casually looking at my emails when I noticed the word, "payment" in the subject of one of my emails. A decade of experience has built in a few hunches in me which always proved to be true.

I knew I have received money in my paypal but I did not expect the payment from Widget Bucks because I only joined Widget Bucks, kept their widget in one of my blogs for two weeks and removed it. It happened almost 6 months before.

The $50+ that I received from Widget Bucks was a total surprise to me. I was sure they sent it to the wrong person. Just when I was about to write to them, I decided to check my widget bucks account.

Yes, I earned it! Several people have joined Widget Bucks clicking on my link and they have made money for me. Imagine how much they would have made if I were to receive $25+ from their earnings. Widget Bucks also kept their promise of giving me $25 as a sign up bonus.

Want to join now Widget Bucks? It is never late buddy. I am lucky to you and you, to me.

PS: The image here is nothing to with Widget Bucks. It is just a jolly good image.

Useful widgets for blogs.

I have installed these excellent widgets in my blog Web Tools Gallery. Please go there, take a look and come back here.

I happened to find these widgets in Blog Catalog.
The widgets are:
Live activity widget shows a real-time list of your blog's latest visitors—where they came from, and what post they are reading. I find it very amusing.

Tag cloud widget displays the top tags for your blog.

Feed Content widget displays the most recent 50 posts from your blog.

There are more to the list. You can also visit the place where these widgets are given away.
Visit http://www.wowzio.com/

I love these great widgets that perform excellently without any glitch.

Yedda sent me a gift!

Yedda's Lior kept up his word. The gift, a light pink colored T-Shirt with Yedda's logo arrived from Cafepress.com.

I have no proper words to express my feelings of appreciation and gratitude. Man, what a big heart Lior has! It must have cost him about $30 or more.

And all I did was to make a blog post on Yedda and informed Yedda about it. I do things like that once in a way but none has responded like Yedda.

But I didn't expect anything from Yedda for blogging about them. The guiding principle behind my blogging is 'Do what you love and love what you do". Blogging is my passion and I simply love it just for the sake of blogging.

Thank you Lior. I owe you one.

I request you to read this blog post on "Yedda-Ask Me" again.

I am excited and happy that it was read by the owner of Yedda, Lior himself. He made a kind comment. He then emailed me appreciating this blog post and told me that he would like to send a gift to me!

Wow! I felt touched and honored. I started blogging in 2005 purely to share my knowledge and experience in the field of spirituality. Then, my interest diversified and this blog is a result of that.

I kept one principle behind my blogging and that is 'Do what you love and love what you do". Blogging is my passion and I don't really expect to be benefited in any way. But if I am rewarded in kind, I gladly accept it with gratitude.

List of stuff for your blog' s sidebar.

I think I can set up a consultancy service for aspiring bloggers. I have gathered plenty of experience in blogging and I still have so much to write about. Even if I blog about one topic per day, it will take 703 days to exhaust my list.

So, starting today, I am going to load useful contents in this blog. Now, how about knowing various widgets to decorate your blog sidebar.

Bloggers who find pleasure in answering questions related to blogging can install Yedda Ask Me widget and customize it too as per your choice of topics on which you encourage your readers to ask questions.

"Yedda understands what your question or answer is about, and is clever enough to find related questions and answers automatically for you even if they're listed under a different topic."-Yedda

Hmm.. I have no time to answer questions but I have all the time in the world to ask questions.mrgreen

Will Blog Rush deliver or take away?

I am skeptic when adding widgets that promise mountains. I am of the opinion that widgets that are said to drive traffic actually take away the visitors except two of my favorites MyBlogLog.com and BlogCatalog.com

So, after procrastinating for more than two months, I signed up for BlogRush.om and awaiting their approval of this blog where in I have installed the Blog Rush widget.

I have my own doubts about the capacity of the widget to understand the content of my blog posts. It has to understand what I have written, it has to understand the category under which my blog is registered and son.. -will it?

Let me wait and see.

Blog Rush for increasing blog traffic.

So many things has happened in my absence from Internet for 8 days. I missed out on a few passive income opportunities and was also in dark about the happenings in blogosphere.

I was slightly tensed up today morning when I opened my email. It took, three hours to clear it all.
I noticed a few new visitors to this blog via Mybloglog.com.

I was reciprocating them and I remember reading a blog on work from home in which there was a post about a widget that will bring in new visitors to our blogs. The widget is provided by Blog Rush.

I did a little bit of research and found varied opinions about this widget. I value the opinion of Mashable.com and his feedback is not all that encouraging.

But I suppose, there is no harm in trying since after all, it is free.

Do you like widgets?

Widgets are great invention-right. With a just a sentences characters, it functions are amazing.

I am of the opinion that interactive widgets are part of the web 2.0 technology. Even yahoo has a big library of widgets; I have used them once for fun. They are very colorful to place in our blogs.

Go to http://gadgetsdirectory.blogspot.com/
The blogger simply loves widgets and derives great pleasure in categorizing and presenting them in his blog.

I spent sometime browsing the directory and liked a lot. I would like to mention a particular widget called Daylight Map an interactive map showing which areas of the Earth are currently in daylight, and which are in darkness.

A big box of widgets.

Until recently, I did not even knew the meaning of widgets and how one use it in their websites or blogs.

Blog Carnival's widget was the first one I think from which I could deduce the usefulness of widgets(see at the right).

Now I am really fascinated by widgets and here is one widget box that I bookmarked.
Widgetbox is a directory and syndication platform for web widgets for blogs and other web pages. Their widgets work with TypePad, WordPress, Blogger, MySpace as well as most other blogs, sidebars or websites. No plug-ins are needed, and they're free!

Categorised under communications, blogosphere, fun and games, media etc, the widgets listed are fantastic and useful too. Just have a look at this widget that can display a slideshow of Widgetbox's Latest Widgets on your blog. These are the Latest Widgets as shown on the front door of Widgetbox.

I read some of the press releases about widget box and could see they are now very popular in cyber space.
