Can children be taught to blog?

I would say no if the said ‘children’ are below 15 years. However, if they are above 15 and if they are stilled called children ( I would not call), yes then, they can be taught to blog.

One should not expect their blogging children to straightaway become popular. It is near impossible to even say “I am blogger” before two years.
The cliché is modern technology is a trap and not a trap. It all depends on the self-discipline.

Development in the art of writing at a budding age is truly an enrichment of your child’s innovative mind. Furthermore, blogging can have numerous benefits:
• Trigger the sense of responsibility – let your child know that blogging is not merely posting; certain responsibilities are brought up like updating, posting daily blogs, answering reader’s queries, and more.
• Establishes communication – connection to the outside world enable kids to reach out to distant relatives and friends. Better yet, getting updates and issues of what’s going on.
• Enhances creativity – upon knowing a child’s potentials, enhance it. Attending to his talents provides eagerness in the child and he would be more confident to profess his skills.

• Enriches vocabulary – it doesn’t stop in learning ABC, your child has the opportunity to play with the words. Make them think. How could I construct an effective sentence that could affect both the reader and the writer? He should learn to cope with words or phrases, correctly. Visiting websites like those that have a thesaurus, dictionary, etc.

Blog Pinging-is it really useful?

Pining means you notify the search engines that your blog has been just updated with new content or a change in theme etc. This is now done automatically from your wordpress dashboard.

Blogs are keenly and frequently spidered by search engines and pining is said to be useful to get the blog post indexed quickly.

Here is a report by one of my blogging friends.
I have tested by only using a blog as the front page of a new information site I started. http://www.informationpagesonline.com has only been advertised by way of the blog to announce new content, and then pinged through http://www.pingoat.com which distributes the blog entries to several large ping sites.

Following a week of adding content, and then posting an announcement of the new content to the blog on the front page and pinging with pingoat, the site seems to be getting visitors to most of the sections, which I can see from the log files. I can also see some of the traffic is coming from search engines, and also a lot of spider activity can be seen on the site, where the search engines are crawling the content.

So I have to conclude that blogging and pinging  is a way of getting listed on search engines, or at least of getting noticed by them quickly.

Should you be blogging and pinging?

Of course that's up to you, but for the time it takes, it may be worth trying blog and ping for yourself and tracking the results.

How to develop your voice on your blog posts.

Developing your voice means stamping your own style in all your blog posts, blog comments, Twitter messages and in all other social media sites where you leave your digital foot print.

Ah, yes, by looking at your digital foot prints, people should say who it belong to.
If you want to develop your voice as a blogger or even an article writer (yes, blog posting and article writing are different) the first thing you should decide is how you are going to show your emotions (appreciation, criticism, sarcasm), how decently but firmly you are going to convey them and start writing your text based on that.

You will not come to say firmly, ‘this is my style’ after publishing a few of your blog posts. You will find it out only after several months (provided you have been active), after having tried out various styles.

Invariably, you will change your style after becoming serious in blogging and start reading others’ blog posts of which some may vibrate with you positively. You will find yourself nodding your head as you read such blog posts. You will remember who the points conveyed in such blog posts get etched in your memory even after a couple of weeks.

Therefore, start finding blogs of your niche, identify blogs that echo your emotions and views and openly leave your feedback. Mention them in your blog posts, direct people to what you liked and what helped you in some way.

Now, you are beginning to slowly developing your voice.

Of course it is needless to say that in order to develop your voice is to practice writing as frequently as possible. To be precise, 3 blog posts a week is really idea. Anything more might be tedious and anything less is not a search engine and reader friendly habits.
Write about anything but always try to adhere to your style; the more you practice writing, the better your ability to express your ideas will become.

It is not always easy to find the right words to express what’s in your mind. Building vocabulary is a must for all kinds of writers-isn’t it? Reading English classics would certainly help anyone bent on fine tuning their writing skill.

I used to take a day off every week and read my favorite authors that include O.Henry, Somerset Maugham, Oscar Wilde, Ayn Rand and Arthur Conon Doyle (the creator of Sherlock Holmes). After reading them, my vocabulary bank would be replenished and I would pick up new ideas to begin my blog post.

Finally, the development of your own style will depend on how you are developed spiritually. I firmly believe that one’s life takes shape depending on the level of spiritual development, on the life and experiences you have had that made you what you are today.

As a blogger, I never fail to include my own opinions and experiences into the blog posts and articles I write with 100% honesty. I am of the opinion that it is the only way that would establish your own voice and also distinguish you from the so called ‘run-of-the-mill’ blog writers.

How to overcome Writers Block?

‘Writers Block’-there’s no escape from it even for passionate bloggers with a few exceptions here and there. You can include me in the exceptions list. It is common for bloggers after they've blogged for months to feel that things are getting a little stale, and you need to figure out how to beat writers block.

You may have heard about famous writers who had no trouble churning out a couple of masterpieces but all of a sudden couldn't get a word on paper.  For a blogger, it can be tough coming up with fresh ideas, and the advice for prose writers with a blockage is good for bloggers too, but it doesn't go far enough - learn to relax your mind, keep a dream journal, and so on.

Bloggers have special tools at their disposal, special talents, and special needs, so here are some tips on how to rid yourself of blogger's block.  You should keep a list of topics and themes in a nearby notebook or on the computer so you can jot down ideas as they occur to you - you don't want that great niche notion to slip away by clicking on the next link and forgetting it.

Let your mind and mouse wander through your favorite blogs and forums for the latest trends, hot topics, and new ideas - but try going to new sites too.

Amazon's bestseller lists are a potential treasure trove of ideas - scan the lists in all kinds of categories, not just the ones you're familiar with, for new products - you never know what you'll find.  Once you know how to do keyword research (and don't use just your favorite - try out others), you can use it as an idea tool - search on a broad topic or concept and scan the results for a mental reboot, taking notes of course.

One way for all you slow typists out there to break through a dry spell is to use voice recognition software to transcribe yourself talking, or use the old-fashioned method of recording and transcribing - some bloggers talk faster than they type.

Finally, if you're really stuck, read English classics by Somerset Maugham, Oscar Wilde or O.Henry.  I bank on their books for ideas for blog post opening sentence.

Loves to blog just for the sake of blogging.

After a long time, I met a blogging enthusiast who loves to blog just for the sake of blogging and not for money.

She is a middle aged woman who has immense skill for making handmade jewelries of various sizes and hues.

She approached me to fine tune her blogging skills. I found she has a blogger in her from her blog posts. Her writing style resembles mine; we both write in first person. It is the only a blog can be; a blogger should be there in his/her blog post.

She is a self learner. I am sure she can pick up fast. She also posses the ability to edit images and take stunning photographs.

I am glad to have met her.

A blog or a web site-which is the best?

A few weeks ago, a musician called me and asked me to develop a blog. I said I could do it for a small fee. When I explained what is required after getting a blog, she was not sure whether she should get her own blog or a web site.

I told her the fundamental differences between a blog and a web site. A blog is also a web site but there are differences between a traditional website and a blog.

A blog is your own voice, published frequently. It is personal and easy to maintain.

Blogs are quick and easy to set up. Blogs have become a less expensive way of advertising your business to the online community.

A website is mostly not so personal and is static. A web site is invariably the official address and location of a web-based business. A website can take weeks, or even months, to develop.

I went on but was interrupted that she was not sure. I believe she thought developing and maintaining a website is easier than a blog.

How wrong she is!

I read an informative article on this subject. Please read it here:
