Selling custom adbloks on your blog.:

Even though I have been earning money from my blogs by selling ad space since 2006, only of late I realized that customizing ‘adblocks’ to different brands is essential for higher remuneration.

I read that when choosing a well known brand to associate with, I must given the best of my site’s space and I must be ready to think out of the box (literally) to customize the ad size that is different from the traditional sizes.

I got the point! Did you?

I tried it and made my sponsor very happy. I did it as a consultant to one of my clients. Do you what?  That happy advertiser spread the word and my client’s wallet bulged.

(Mine too of course)

You can manage your web advertisement space on your own. I know there are plugins too but I prefer do it manually.

Custom ad space is best sold on blogs than static sites.  These days you can drive a real hard bargain with the advertisers considering what your ad space can deliver to them.

12000 advertisers from 88 countries are waiting to approve your blog.

Even though Pay Per Impression ad networks have been in place for as long as I have been in Internet since 1998, I was taken aback when a well known blogger that I happened to meet recently in Bangalore stared at me when I asked him did he consider joining a couple of them because of almost no income off Google AdSense.

I then asked him if he has heard of CPM ad network and he affirmed. I told him CPM (cost per thousand) is also known as cost per impression or pay per impression. CPM ad networks are web advertisements that you place into your blog that deliver targeted ads to your blog’s audience.

Yes, it looks like a PPC (pay per click) type of monetization but certainly it differs. CPM pays you money for every thousand impression of your blog page in which you have placed the given ads.

No clicks on the ads are necessary for you to earn.

There are several CPM ad networks but the most used by bloggers are:

AdSoid.com  (pays a good $5 per thousand impressions)

Critieo.com (There are 12000 advertiser from 88 countries)

Oh, there are many more but as I said, the above two are favorites of most of the bloggers)

Blogs of multi niche with more than 10k traffic a month or more stand to gain a decent sum every month.

Monetize your blog now with an image ad network.

Would you believe that sometime in 2013, I drafted this blog post? However, I never usually dig out the drafts to give it a finishing touch before publishing. As a typical Gemini, I quickly lose interest that some news or views kindled in me fiercely a day or two before.

I was cleaning the space for Google 15 minutes before by deleting all the drafts in my blogger dashboard when a headline, "Image ad network" stared at me from the draft posts.

I quickly looked into it and saw neatly written brief reviews of three paying image ad networks for bloggers. Out of the three, two had closed shop and the last one in my draft review 'gumgum.com' is found to be alive.

The image below belongs to them and I loved the top quality of the image.

Here is one more image that I saw in their blog located at http://gumgum.com/blog.  A stunning image.

Well, now, how can a blogger can earn money by joining a "image ad network"?
Forgive me, I could only deduce that publishers are paid by cost per impressions (CPM) basis through monetizing  images on their blogs.

You are given a choice of three types of ads namely:
1. Im image ads
2. In screen ads
3. Native ads

Apart from this, there is no clear information or a FAQ page to throw more light. though there is a guide to publishers' monetization guide that bloggers can download and read before applying. (http://insights.gumgum.com/guides-publisher-emerging-forms-advertising)

A few facts published in their 'about' page.
* 400 million visitors
*  2,000 premium publishers
* 81% viewability rate
* Their clients include Disney, L’Oreal and Toyota.
* GumGum is headquartered in Santa Monica, California, with six additional offices in the US and in the UK.
* Founded in 2007

Monetize your blog with 7 types of ads.

When monetizing your blog, don't confine it with just Google adsense; there are other options for bloggers and all of them offer free.

While the bloggers from the U.S. are well aware of various types of ads that a blogger can place in his blog, majority of the Indian bloggers are not aware of such options. The income from adsense purely depends on clicks made on the ads placed. How about no such condition but can still fetch you money?

I hope I have kindled your interest.

Google Adsense is not for all; especially Indian bloggers would agree with me-right? I have compiled a big blog titled, "7 Types of ads on your blog to earn money'".

Please read it and if you like it, please share it with your social circles.

Looking for a CPM ad network that accepts blogs?

CPM ad networks-the most under used blog monetization method is waiting for high traffic as well as moderate traffic blogs to tap into them. Cost per million (CPM) advertisement networks pays publishers a certain amount of money when the placed ad is viewed every thousand times.

There are several CPM ad networks that only accept sites that boasts of a minimum of 1 million page views per month. However, there are equal number of CPM players that accepts blogs that report a few thousand visitors every month.

I'd like to introduce to you a new publisher network, www.ValueViewMedia.com. They assure us of no popup ads, no malaware etc making them trustworthy for our site visitors.

Currently, their eCPM rates range from $0.54 and $0.27. These are paid based on views and not based on by clicks. Ah, I see you are happy and excited to try it out on your blog.

Since the drop in AdSense earnings, many bloggers have started banking on CPM way of monetizing their blogs. They have the standard rules, very similar to Adsense; No explicit content, hate speech, etc.

Oh, I am sorry, I should have explained what eCPM is. Value View Media says,
"Networks typically have a combination of premium advertisements and ads for remnant traffic. This means you’re serving a blend of high CPM ads and low CPM ads. This is great for networks, since they monetize as much of your traffic as they can and offer “high fill rates”. The problem is, they end up serving low paying remnant ads to your premium traffic. Most networks allow you to send traffic to a backup network through default ad tags. However, you’re CPMs are still the average of premium ads and low paying ads. When your next network serves monetizes your traffic, they’ll do the same thing."

In short, premium ads + remnant ads = eCPM

Did you earn from Blogdash.com

If I remember correctly, I received a direct mail from Blogdash.com asking me to register my blogs with them. Blog dash acts as a platform for bloggers and product/service owners to increase outreach.

I don't know why such a confusing word is used! It could have been a simple blog marketing or brand awareness enhancing opportunity which would have attracted more bloggers to explore the possibilities of earning money by blogging.

As a problogger, I don't leave any stone unturned; I registered one of my blogs onemoresales.com. Thus far, it has been viewed only once by prospective advertisers.

I wonder what is the success stories of fellow probloggers.

Care to share your experience with blogdash.com?

More money for writing reviews.

Those who are already earning money by blogging through various monetization ways, should be aware of Linkvehicle.com, that hires blog publishers to write reviews of websites, place text links in their blogs and get paid for them.

Linkvehicle has launched another feature by which bloggers can make more money without doing any extra work. They call itTopLinks program!

How Do I Get Started?

If you are already a registered blogger/publisher with Linkvehicle.com, just log in, click on the blogs you've registered. You will find new check box beside a new feature called "Participate in TopLinks". Check the box and hit submit if you want to earn more money from the blog reviews you already published for linkvehicle.com

Ongoing income for reviews:

When an advertiser buys a review from the LinkVehicle marketplace, they can upgrade to a TopLink if the website (your blog) is a participant. Apart from being paid normally for the review, you will continue to receive half that amount you already received every month that the TopLink runs.

Are you worried about more out going links?

Since it is an internal link, it won't count against your outgoing links for SEO purposes.

TopLinks will help you convert the one-time income from writing reviews into an ongoing source of revenue.

What Does This Mean For Text-Link Publishers?

If you can add new pages to your site, you can participate in TopLinks!

When an advertiser requests content, simply create a simple HTML document on a new page. Place an internal link on your homepage to this document and you're all set! You'll receive a one-time payment for creating the content and a recurring payment for half that amount every month the TopLink runs

The most profitable blog monetization.

The most profitable blog monetization.

There may be differences of opinion but I would like to emphasize that affiliate marketing is the most profitable blog monetization strategy. This is applicable for those who don't have their own digital information products which is of course anytime more profitable than promoting others' products.

My next argument is, I don't prefer to put my efforts in promoting clickbank products because the reward is not instant when you make a sale. I have about $50 in my clickbank account for two sales I made 7 months back. Clickbank has its own rules to release payments.

So, what I prefer?

Instant PayPal Commissions:
I have joined several affiliate program network that pay the commission instantly into my PayPal account as soon as the sale is generated. In fact, the commissions are mostly 100%.

High Paying affiliate programs:
If I come to know of any hot selling product, I check to see whether it is in the database of high paying affiliate programs. If it satisfies my metrics, then, I think of ways to promote it.

Less profitable ways of making money by blogging.
Selling ad space in your blog is the easiest method to earn good money by blogging.
PPC advertising is the least profitable way to monetize your blogs.

AdSense video tutorials that stand above the crowd.

Have you ever thought those who claim to be earning a full time income through Google AdSense are lying? I thought so but soon came to conclusion that they are not lying but exaggerating. I thought their pride would be at stake if they disclose the real (actually low) earnings.

I received my first Google AdSense check after 8 months.

I too maintain several blogs.
I write useful posts that are 100% unique.

Nevertheless, the earnings per day never exceeded $11.
Why?
What am I doing wrong?
What else do I have to learn to implement to see consistent $10 per day?

Are there any Google AdSense video tutorials that stand above the crowd?
Can anyone assure their strategies would fetch $10 per day through 5 blogs/websites?

No! I don't think there are any clear cut methods to earn $10 per day through AdSense.

New and young marketplace for selling ad space.

I received a message on my mobile from Twitter. It stood out among 17 other Tweets because I smelt money.

It is about a marketplace for publishers like me. Bloggers and webmasters are all publishers in a sense they publish content. On their web pages, they rent out space for advertisements.

A marketplace for publishers and advertisers is where both meet to sell and buy ad spaces. Selling ad space in your blog is the easiest way to make some extra cash without any work.

Create an account free at http://puxee.com/ and explore the possibilities of making money from your blogs. Puxee.com was launched just a month ago.

Improve your AdSense income.

I thought by changing the template of this blog will improve my AdSense income. The new blog design tool offered by the blogger platform provided many options to monetize the blog with AdSense ad formats.

I tried it in this blog which you can see. I also included an image in header though it is irrelevant to this blog's topic.

I have observed a slight improvement in my AdSense income since I implemented the changes. Not a big increase but still some improvement when compared to a few months before.

Do you like this template? Do you have feedback for me? I welcome criticism.

New method to monetize your blog content.

This looks an easy way to monetize the content of your blog.

Have you heard of VigLink? This is actually an affiliate network. Viglink has partnered with 12,500 affiliate network! That is a huge network really-eh?

How it works?
Simply said, whenever you write about a product or service on your blog, you include a link to that normally-right? What if that link is turned into an affiliate link without any work from you?

VigLink will convert the normal links for that product or service into an affiliate link automatically. This is a big time saver because it takes a lot of time to search for products that pays you if your link generates a sale.

Just insert a Java script provided by VigLink in your blog's HTML page and you are done! If any of your blog readers is enticed to click on that affiliate link and makes a purchase, you earn a commission.

Viglink is compatible with most of the blogging platforms that include Blogger, WordPress and TypePad. You get paid through Paypal if your earnings reach a minimum of $25.

Remember, Viglink takes 25% of your earnings as service fee.

I got paid by Widget Bucks.

Widget (video game)Image via WikipediaI was casually looking at my emails when I noticed the word, "payment" in the subject of one of my emails. A decade of experience has built in a few hunches in me which always proved to be true.

I knew I have received money in my paypal but I did not expect the payment from Widget Bucks because I only joined Widget Bucks, kept their widget in one of my blogs for two weeks and removed it. It happened almost 6 months before.

The $50+ that I received from Widget Bucks was a total surprise to me. I was sure they sent it to the wrong person. Just when I was about to write to them, I decided to check my widget bucks account.

Yes, I earned it! Several people have joined Widget Bucks clicking on my link and they have made money for me. Imagine how much they would have made if I were to receive $25+ from their earnings. Widget Bucks also kept their promise of giving me $25 as a sign up bonus.

Want to join now Widget Bucks? It is never late buddy. I am lucky to you and you, to me.

PS: The image here is nothing to with Widget Bucks. It is just a jolly good image.

Tips to choose profitable affiliate programs.

A new blogger who is sincerely trying to monetize his blog will easily get carried away by signing up to each and every affiliate program that he comes across by reading money making blogs.

I don't blame you if you are one, as I too was like that several years ago. Here are some useful tips to choose the right affiliate program.

1. Don't fall for big players alone assuming that they are the best. It is not always true. For example, I am sure you are aware of the stalwart CJ (Commission Junction). They only encourage U.S. marketers. Most of the their merchants will reject your application if you are elsewhere. It is true some of their merchants will auto approve your application but such merchants' products or services are not in big demand. It is my experience. (I am in India)

2. Choose and apply for products/services that will be most useful to you. This is a smart way to think on the lines of others' needs. I would definitely recommend the following two popular affiliate directories. Both have excellent products that even I am able to sell.

Pepperjam Network

My Help Hub

3. Will you buy a product purely based on popularity than need? No, you won't. At least I won't. I will remember this principle while promoting products.

4. Look for products that offer a minimum of 20% commission on sale price.

5. If an affiliate directory pays only when you reach $200, don't join even if they offer high commission rate. It is quite probable that their products are not in demand.

6. Don't accept check payments if you are outside U.S. Accept only through Paypal.

7. Be prepared to get payments only after 45 days of making a sale because of refund policy.

In-text advertising pays.

After much procrastination, I signed up with Kontera and I have already inserted their ad code on this blog. You may see their in-text ads in some of the posts in this blog.

Kontera has been in this field for long. They now offer in-text advertising and publishers can benefit from this financially.

Kontera’s ContentLink In-Text Website Advertising lets you monetize your content in real-time, resulting in an increased revenue. These in-text ads always point to us whether our content has really proper keywords to the topic we have written on.

The above point is important and may force us to re-read our blog post and modify if necessary. I was given to understand that Kontera provides more control and better usability than some of the other networks that offer inline text ads.

Any insight?

Publisher Spot for bloggers.

I read about Publisher Spot in one of the blog posts of my friend Collingwood and he is not the English cricketer definitely.

The blogosphere is getting improved every day with advertisers offering newer ways to advertise their products and services in our blogs. I also noticed an increase in ad revenue for us.

In the last week itself, I was approached by three different companies that want me to put their text links in two of my other blogs. But so far, none advanced further.

More new companies approach a central marketing company who does the job of outsourcing the work for them from us.

PublisherSpot provides informative reviews and summaries of Internet ad network companies. Bloggers can learn a lot from these reviews of ad network companies before signing up with them.

There are a few companies that are new to me and that includes Banner Connect and Market Leverage. The reviews published by Publisher Spot is quite exhaustive.

Thank you Publisher Spot. You are very useful to me.

New opportunity to earn from your blogs.

One of my blog post Where can you buy unlocked cell phones?" has received a rather lengthy comment in which, there was no indication of having read my blog post. But the commentator
used the opportunity to introduce his/her website Contentxn publisher network. Yes, it is a 'earn money from your blogs' opportunity.

Contentxn is an open platform for writers who actively maintain websites or blogs or just have a mailing list of friends or subscribers, to inform and talk about their favorite products, services, websites or companies, and yes get paid for it. You can call it a blog monetization method.

I looked at their website, but could not exactly make out how a blogger can gain from it. However I signed up for free but I am yet to take active interest due to prior commitments.
Contentxn is still in beta and I think you require an invitation from them to sign up.

If you get to know about Contentxn more, I request you to either email me (email in my profile) or leave a feedback here.

Earn with ScribeFire-the blog editor.

It took me to act on the blog editor called Scribefire that was lying idle in my browser for a long time.

Surprise! When I did finally browsed what exactly is Scribefire, I was surprised by blog editing features. More surprise was in store for me when I learnt that it also offers bloggers a platform to monetize their blogs.

Initially, I faced some difficulties in configuring the ads to be placed in my blog. I did not inform them about my the problems but I just blogged in in one of my blogs. It was read by Scribefire staff and our communication started.

I was terribly impressed (yes, an oxymoron) with their support.

Read my blog post titled,"Scribefire helps you to earn".
