What to do after publishing a blog post-part 7-new social voting site.

Well, Kingged.com, a very active social voting site may not be new to all the bloggers but new to me as I came to know about it only a few hours ago.

(Note: Scroll down to the end of this blog post to view the list of my previous posts on the same topic)

What Exactly Is Kingged.com

In their own words, Kingged.com is a MEGA 4-in-1 Internet Marketing social site. By 4-in-1, it is:

1. An IM News/Content site
2. An IM Social Networking site
3. An IM Social Bookmarking site
4. An IM Product/Service/Software site

I liked the way the site was developed. The home page is split into several categories under which users have shared their content making it very easy for everyone to read and share the content. Very efficiently curated!

What content can you share?
Users can share and "King" or “Unking” (vote up or down)the best Internet marketing content, products and services they find useful.

For example, one can share their favorite web pages in the following Main Sections of Kingged.com
Mobile Marketing
Blogging
SEO / SEM
Internet Marketing
Making Money Online
Affiliate Marketing
Startups
Copywriting

Another unique feature is content curated from several sites and blogs and arranged conveniently as follows:
Top IM Blogs
Top IM Forums
Top IM WSOs
Top IM Marketplaces
Top IM Paid Tools
Top IM Free Tools
Top IM resources

Networking with users:
Kingged.com also allows us to network with other members by way of adding them as your friends and if you decide, you can also ‘follow’ anyone’s activities in the site.  This is making kingged.com as a social network for Internet Marketers and Bloggers. As of now, you can develop relationship with approximately 3700 members.

Content Sharing in Social media
Under every link social bookmarked, you can find a ‘share’ button which when clicked on, enables you to share the content on leading social media sites that include Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Stumbleupon, Delicious and Google+. However, it is advised to rewrite the snippet before finally submitting on these social networking sites as the automatically generated snippet lacks quality.

For example, this is what is given for me to tweet when I wanted to share a social bookmark that read, “InternationalCopywriting: What Can Go Wrong?

Twitter message automatically generated: http://kin.gg/Jkt2W
That is all you would see. This applies to all the social network sharing options.

Reward for social sharing
To encourage users to post what they liked on the leading social networking sites, some points are given each time you share in Facebook, Twitter and so on. For example, once you posted it on your FB wall, you will see a ‘verify’ button. You must click on it to get the points though I am yet to explore the exact number of points awarded and how to use the points.

In fact, you are rewarded for most of your activities (see below) carried out in Kingged.com.
* viewing posts,
* sharing posts
* "kingging" or "unkingging" posts.
* using their IM search engine, powered by Google
* using their free IM tools, etc.

Cons:
The site is loading slowly. There is no ‘about’ page. There is no ‘home’ page navigation button. Some bugs are noticed. But the site says it is still in beta and requests us to forgive the shortcomings and report the bugs.

Forum:
There is a button for forum but it is not yet functional.

Get backlinks and earn too.

I know that She Told Me is a good free platform to gain brand awareness but I did not know some of its other features.

For example, I know that She Told Me is an AdSense revenue sharing site but I did not that it shares 100%.!

She Told Me is owned by David, who also runs Senserely.com, another very popular AdSense Revenue Sharing site.

She Told Me also serves Chitika ads. If you have a Chitika account and AdSense account, you stand to earn extra US Dollars without any effort from you. Just use She Told Me as a social bookmarking site and you will do fine.

Save the Delicious.

Digital information cleaning is in fact more essential than physical clutter. We tend to overlook the burden we are dumping on free social bookmarking sites. We are taught that social bookmarking gets us valuable backlinks but I think hardly 10% of the social bookmarking sites pass on link juice.

Deletious-helps us to revisit our bookmarked links in Delicious and we then can decide whether we want to keep the link or delete it. A sort of cleaning our office drawer. I like it and I think, Delicious is feeling the weight of carrying digital info.

Deletious can be logging into using our existing Delicious log in details. Once done, a window opens to show our stored web page. We can simply press a button on the left sidebar to either keep it or delete it.

It may throw up a few surprises. We can find forgotten gems too.

Promote your affiliate links easily.

The biggest drawback for affiliate marketers is their inability to promote their affiliate links easily. Unless, one has a blog, it is not possible to actively bring visitors to their affiliate websites.Directories mostly accept home page links. Article directories also don't accept affiliate links with a few exceptions.

Here is a social bookmarking website that allows you full freedom to submit your affiliate sites.

Visit The FB-The Fast Bookmarker to submit all your blog posts, affiliate links like Amazon, BANS and the likes.

Yes, at the outset, it looks like Digg and many more social bookmarking sites that move your submitted link to the main page based on popularity which is determined by the number of visitors who cast their vote in its favor.

Blogger-rush to this site if you have written blog posts on blogging as there is just one link in The FB.

Why Digg? It is a waste of time.

One of very early blog post (Think again before social bookmarking)on how it is a waste of time doing social bookmarking created quite a stir but I somehow got on to the first page Google search results for the keyword "How to Digg".

I still stand by my claim that "Digg"ing is a waste of time unless:
You have your fairly large network of Diggers
You Digg only tech or political news
You Digg frequently
You submit only on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. (it is only the opinion of seasoned marketers)

My Don'ts:
Don't ever give in to Digg exchange. It won't yield any desired results.
Don't pay money to get Dugg. Waste of money.

So, ...?

So what?
Just stay out of Digg as a promotional website but use it to generate blog content ideas.

Forgive me Chris.

Yahoo's Myweb is closing.

Yahoo! MyWeb which is probably the least used social bookmark is being closed. Well, I don't use it like many others, so I don't have to move anything from Yahoo! MyWeb.

Yahoo! is of course not ditching its loyalists. Before they close the MyWeb on March 18th, they are offering some alternate solutions to the users of Myweb.

All the bookmarks on MyWeb will be automatically available in Yahoo! Bookmarks.

If you are also using Delicious, Yahoo announced a simple process of migration. First, export your MyWeb bookmarks in XML format and save it in your computer. Then log in to Delicious and upload the saved XML file by using the manual import option provided by Delicious.

And if you are not using Delicious, you are supposed to create an account with them.

How to get buzzed at Yahoo Buzz?

Yahoo! Buzz is a social bookmarking sites. So what new? Yes, there is absolutely nothing exciting about it. Just because it is a service from Yahoo! doesn't make it to be a compusion for Internet marketers to use it.

Ok, at least I don't surely chase it. It is just another social bookmarking site to me. To get your submitted story to the front page requires the same effort to take your Digg story to the home page of Digg.com

If you search,"How to get more Diggs", you are sure to find many links. If you follow the tips in them for Yahoo Buzz also, you are likely to get it to the home page.

See, I know the existence of excellent stories in Digg.com but they just didn't have enough votes to make them popular. Here, to get more votes in Yahoo or to get more Diggs, you just need to have a good number of friends in these social bookmarking sites. Just let them know about your submission and they will vote for it. They might not even read it.

You return the favor in the same way. In short, you scratch my back and I will scratch yours. I used to Digg around, Mixx a lot;I just click on the interesting titles and visit the links without remembering to return to the source and cast my appreciative votes.

One click submit to multiple social bookmarks.

SocialMatic is a free service that submits your blog posts to several other social bookmarking websites apart from submitting to its own website.

The process of submitting is very easy and gets over in less than a minute.

It submits to the following social bookmarking sites.
Backflip
Bibsonomy
Blinklist
Faves
Buddymarks
Connectedy
Connotea
del.icio.us
Diigo
Folkd
Magnolia
Mister Wong
Yahoo!
Netvouz
Simpy
Taggly

I have used a similar service called Social Wire which submits to 20 social bookmarks. That is also very useful.

I don't expect a sudden rush of visitors by submitting to social bookmarks but it helps in a small way.

Echoing your site for traffic building.

Sites Echo is a social bookmarking web site that someone introduced to me three days before. I have been using it and I am satisfied with the results so far.

As to the user interface, there is nothing new and I find it advantageous as I find it easy to navigate. Of late, all the social bookmarking sites seems to use the same script.

However their is one distinct advantage in this site and that is the number of categories they have created which makes it easy to submit my blog posts.

The site is new and there are very few links at present. There is information about the promoter of the website.

Get your blog post seen by 60,000 visitors.

The site you must head to utilize the advertising opportunity is called Dubbagol,
a name that is based on some private reason.

Dubbagol.com helps desi bloggers get exposure and TONS of traffic to their blog completely free of cost, and with very little effort.

Your story will appear alongside stories from Rediff, DNA India, Times of India, The Hindu, Mumba Mirror, ZoomTV etc.

I believe it is a public bookmarking site that is surfacing in dozens every week. In the last two days itself, I have unearthed three more and two of them are from India. I will write about them in my next blog article.

For now, visit Dubbagol, basically a central point of user submitted blog posts and stories coming from India. Bloggers, like yourself come to the site and submit direct story links to their blogs. Then, readers on Dubbagol simply vote up your story submissions if they like it - with one single click.

”As your story rises up to the front page - you will start to see amazing amounts of traffic coming to your website directly from dubbagol”.

Listen to Chris on secrets of social bookmarking.

Sometimes (I mean rarely), the comments for my blog posts turn out to be meaningful and lead me to gain further knowledge in Internet marketing.

I was first terribly impressed with Chris Lang's knowledge about social bookmarking and hence introduced him to you in a small way through my blog post, "Think again before submitting .."
I would request you to read the comments that pos received so far and you will know more about Chris Lang.

He goes like this: "So social bookmarking if done wrong can actually hurt you." This will awaken many of us who are just dumping links on social bookmarks hoping to get backlinks.

I for one doing just that-dumping and hoping to get readers and backlinks. I think the time has come to buy his e-book on "social marketing".

Think again before submitting to social bookmarks.

I spend at least 20 minutes a day to submit some of my blog posts to social bookmarking sites in the hope of getting back links. And I have spent countless hours to compile a big list of social bookmarking sites and spent equal number of hours to register in them.

Chris Lang just stopped me from having false hopes of getting back links by submitting to social media sites.

I have initiated a thread, "How many social sites follow links" in the social authority forum and Chris Lang has replied in great detail about what is the Google's strategy in ranking your site, how we may be considered as a spammer by submitting to popular social bookmarking sites including Digg.

We all should read his e-book on social marketing that contains totally different but very useful information.

New blog promotion idea!

Never ignore these headlines. You don't know what is in store. If you keep an open mind, you may find something worthwhile. This post itself is a proof of it.

Blog Reporter is a social website meant for all of us to report blog posts that interest us. You can use it like any bookmarking website and post blog teasers. (it is my term mrgreen)

Just register for free and start using the site. And don't be selfish by posting your own blog post and exit. View others' posts and vote for them. And it need not always be a vote of excellence.

Remember Blog Engage? Well, Blog Reporter is a similar website that we can use for blog promotion. If your blog post receives more number of votes, it is moved to their front page. Once that happens, your blog will get a fresh bunch of visitors.

Let us support Blog Engage.

I think it is our responsibility to support an upcoming website that promises lot of traffic to our blog posts.

Blog Engage requires our support. What we need do is post our blog posts regularly, view posts of others and give them a rating. Let us ensure that we don't create a one way entry.

Blog Engage has now 600 members in its database and there are about 1200 links in all. While I feel the member count is ok at this stage, the number links could be much better. We need to posts more and we need to spread the word too.

I think not all posts that are submitted are published. I intend to ask them the criteria for publishing.

Post to 60 social bookmarks.

This is one of the best news for bloggers and webmasters. A fantastic new tool is launched by Post Toaster.

At last, we can decongest our browser's bookmark toolbar. I deleted nearly 47 socialbookmarklets from my FireFox toolbar. I replaced them all with only one bookmarklet provided Post Toaster with which I can submit a link to 60 different social bookmarking websites.

Here is more surprises. You must be aware that many social bookmarking sites don't follow links. This tool by Post Toaster gives us the option to filter out those that practice 'No Follow' attribute.

Lastly, you can enter up to 4 different titles and 4 different descriptions and Post Toaster will randomly pair them in the submission links.

You can consult the Post Toaster Bookmarking Guide for further help and information.

Here is the list of sites you can submit to in quick time.
