Trackbacks-where have they gone?

Do you remember how bloggers were urged to use trackbacks a few years ago? Every famous blogger, every SEO professional took time to emphasize the utility of the trackbacks in blogosphere.

Bloggers made use of the trackbacks to know who links back to their blog posts and genuinely reciprocated by linking back to other bloggers. This resulted in targeted traffic to the bloggers.

Of late, I find bloggers are becoming selfish and not reciprocating inbound links. Either they are too busy or simply not bothered about who mentions their blog posts in their blogs.

I have been linking to all the blog posts that I mention in this blog but I don't see any improvements in my blog's inbound links.

Do you have any comments on the subject?

Trackback is used to get links from other bloggers and sites that use trackbacks. Trackbacks are more powerful than commenting on someone’s blog because they use the title of the post you link to them with as the link back to your site.
