Free blog backup service.

Yesterday, I was reading a fee from webware.com and I got attracted by the above headline.

I remember asking a few of my online contacts if they know how to take a daily backup of our blog since just then I read a few posts in forums that people have suddenly lost their entire blog.

So, naturally I wanted to know more about this great service which is offered free of cost.

Blog Backup Online is easy to use foe blogs that are hosted by Blogger, TypePad, or WordPress...

Sign up for free, activate your email and register your blogs. It cannot back up all PEG, GIF, PNG, TIFF, BMP Image files at present.

Presently we are given a 50MB space and within that quota, we can register any number of blogs.

“A full backup requires Blog Backup Online to crawl the blog starting from the main URL following links from both the calendar and archives to find all blog entries. This method is used to perform a complete backup because RSS and Atom feeds for a blog typically only serve the most recent entries and do not provide access to earlier entries.

A full backup can run anywhere from a few seconds to a few hours. An example of a large blog with 1500 entries typically requires 2 hours to fully archive.”

If we run out of our allotted space, email morespace@techrigy.com
