The use of HDMI splitters.

While we were watching a good movie, the TV went silent and we saw an error message, ‘No Signal’.

My son went up to the terrace and fiddled with the dish antenna but the TV was adamant. We checked all the connecting cables but could not find any faulty connections. But my son suspected something wrong with the quality of audio/video outlet.

We called the technician and he turned up 12 hours late. He too first fiddled with the dish antenna. He then came down and immediately saw the fault. Though he temporarily fixed the problem, he advised us to buy a HDMI splitter.

Seeing our blank faces, he explained that the High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) is a compact audio/video connector interface for transmitting uncompressed digital streams.

HDMI splitters are used to connect connects digital audio/video sources such as a set-top box, video game console such as Xbox and AV receiver.

Since we don’t know where to get it, we requested the technician to buy one for us.

Instead of having your technician buy your HDMI splitters for you, you can probably save some money by checking out American Consumer Cables (http://www.americanconsumercables.com). All of their cable accessories are discounted, and you don't have to worry about the quality -- it's top-notch.
