Which Blog Platform Should I use?

For a beginner blogger, these are questions that will come to their mind;

• ‘Should I use a free Blogger.com blog or get my own hosted blog on my own Domain? Which Blog Platform is best?’
• ‘What are the Pros and Cons of going with WordPress as a blog platform?’

I’m not going to tell you which blog platform you should use because, ultimately, the decision is to be taken by you only based on your goal. I will lay the bare facts; you decide.

You can change your blog platform at a later time but these are issues you will have to face:

Blog transfer cost

Changing from a free hosted blog service to a self hosted one means changing your domain name itself which has implications on Search Engine traffic.

Again getting comfortable with a new blogging platform

All your efforts to promote your previous blog domain will be wasted. You will have to start all over again.

I know starting with blogger.com is the easy way out but wordpress is better option in the long term even though the learning curve at the beginning is a bit steep.
