Google's panda update has been discouraging bloggers to stop their link building strategies known to all. For example, dropping links back to your blogs in profile page offered by thousands of web sites would attract negative rankings by Google.
However, links from authority sites and several respected web 2.0 properties would get due recognition. It is what I am led to believe.
A blog post was dug out of the drafts in my blog a few minutes ago that said,
